OUR RECONDITIONED TRIM
Our aluminum trim
is not reanodized. It is buffed to a high finish, some does
not come out as nice as we'd like. Therefore we grade it, but
each piece is as shiny as the next, although it may have flaws.
We use a wax that we have tested to maintain the shine and
protect from oxidazation. This trim is not maintenance free you
must wax it. Motorcycle companies have been selling raw aluminum
parts for years.
If you are
building a concours car you'd probably not be interested in our
trim. You need extremely nice NOS. I have not seen one piece of
trim that has been reconditioned (buffed, reanodized, rechromed, or
polished) that looks like the original. It is either too bright,
lost definition, has one flaw or another. It is our opinion that with most pieces that we
have reconditioned, there is no such thing as a perfect piece and no
two pieces come out the same.
However, on the other hand,
reconditioned pieces look much better than old ones and most of the
small flaws from reconditioning are not noticable once the piece is on
the car. If you are looking for something for your car that will
make it standout, then our trim is what you are looking for. It was our intention to make that driver or cruiser look really
special at an affordable price. I think it is hard to find trim
as nice as ours at the prices we offer. We offer many payment
plans (lay-a-way, Visa, MasterCard, no obligation price quote)
and you may up grade your trim you purchase from us at any time.
We don't always
have #1 quality in stock. Just for the fact, it is so hard to
come by. A lot of our #2 quality trim is nicer than most
anything you'll ever see and would really dress up that special
driver at an affordable price.
If you have any
questions just ask we are here to help. Good luck with your
project.
ABOUT OUR TRIM
We offer
reconditioned (straightened, stripped, buffed, polished) trim for 60 thru 64 Galaxies.
All s/s and aluminum pieces are buffed to
a high finish. Due to the age of this trim there is varying
qualities, generally due to small pits. We try our best to grade
them according to quality.
Clear: Hardly any
imperfections, close to show quality.
#1: Very few
small pits. This is a real nice quality and looks good even at a
close distance.
#2: Has more
imperfections than #1, but still looks real nice on a driver.
#1 & #2 grade may
also carry a "plus" or "minus" to further denote their quality.
On most of the parts our buffers have taken great care to try
and keep the most visible portion of the part free of
imperfections. Although in some cases their will be visible pits
because they cannot sand the piece any further, which would
cause a hole, which would render the piece useless.
Flawed: This is
the lowest grade. These pieces will have major imperfections
(large pits, wavy, bad chroming). These pieces are offered at a
major discount. Although, they are "flawed", they would still
look good at a distance, and may be a good inexpensive piece for
that every day driver.
All grades are
priced accordingly.
CORE POLICY
Most trim pieces
need a repairable core exchange!
To be repairable,
they can only have 1 or 2 small dings, dents, or scratches. Over
sprayed paint and discoloring usually doesn't matter. They
cannot be overly pitted. Die cast items cannot be pitted,
flaking of the chrome, or spider webbing doesn't matter. We will
accept cores with more extensive damage; although you will not
get full exchange credit, there will be a partial core charge.
Some items are
harder to find than others. If you do not have a core to
exchange, there will be a core charge. If an item is plentiful
there is a lower core charge. If an item is extremely hard to
find, there will be a "C.E.O." marked on it. This means "Core
Exchange Only". In the case of die cast, the piece must not be
pitted. To insure core return on any C.E.O. item, you must send
it to us first so it can be evaluated; or if we are at a show,
you must...
1. Bring your
core return to the show to be inspected, or
2. If you do not
have your core with you, to purchase the item you may place a
50% deposit on the item at which time the item will be marked as
sold with your name on it and placed in a lay-a-way.
When you return
your core, and it is deemed repairable and the remaining 50% of
the bill is paid the item will be shipped to you at our expense.
If the item is not repairable, your deposit will be returned to
you less 5% for handling, if you paid by credit card. On hard to
find items (64 hood lips, and rear browes, etc…), and large
orders, such as full sets, the C.E.O. rule applies.
If cores are
returned within 30 days of receiving your purchase, you will
receive a cash refund. For any core returned after 30 days, you
will receive credit for the purchase of other merchandise.
Cores may be returned up to six (6) months after purchase.
Let us know if you need longer time periods for core return.
All cores will be inspected for non-repairable damages. All
cores must be repairable. If cores are not repairable you will
be charged the full core charge, (or a prorated charge if damage
is marginal). Non-repairable cores will be returned at your
expense. Once cores are received and accepted they cannot be
returned, only if they are non-repairable. We will give
you credit for extra cores depending on condition.
CARE OF TRIM
We recommend the use of
Simichrome Polish on all of our trim.
ALUMINUM
Our aluminum is
buffed to a high finish. We do not have it anodized, due to
age and pits; only about 1 in 8 or 10 pieces come out good
enough to be reanodized. Our buffed product is brighter than
anodized and looks very nice. "It is not maintenance free." You
must keep wax on it to keep it from changing color. We have been
using "Simichrome Polish". If your car is kept
inside you should probably wax it about once a month, depending
on how much you drive your car and in what kind of conditions.
All of the aluminum trim in our inventory gets waxed about every
two months. There are some pieces that have been in the shop for
over a year and look as good as the day they came from the
buffers.
We have a test
piece that has wax on one half, and left bare on the other. It
has been placed outside in weather and direct sunlight since
July 2002. About every 2 months I bring it in and rewax the
waxed side, and it cleans right up to the original shine. The
unwaxed side is starting to change color, but the wax we use
restores it to the original shine, with a little more work.
Since we do not
know how you will maintain your trim, we do not guarantee
against oxidation or color change.
Another plus for
"Buffed versus Anodized or Chromed" is, if your piece becomes
damaged, or after years become dull, you can return it to us. We
can have it rebuffed for far less than reanodizing or rechroming.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
We have compiled
a price guide by year. ALL PRICE GUIDES ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY!
PRICES CHANGE ACCORDING TO QUALITY AND AVAILABILITY. CALL
FOR QUALITY LEVEL AND PRICE QUOTE. Since we have several grades of trim,
prices vary greatly. Most prices are marked from lowest to
highest with different prices in between. Most 64 pieces, and a
large majority of 63 pieces are in stock. 62, 61, and 60 pieces
are sometimes in stock, or there maybe a wait. Sometimes we just
cannot find a piece for a while. Therefore, you'll have to check
periodically.

All prices are
subject to change due to quality and availability. All prices do
not include shipping (you must pay the shipping). We accept Visa
and Master Card, or US Postal Money Order.
If you are buying
a large quantity of trim you will receive a discount. There is a
price guide for full and partial sets, which will vary greatly
due to quality.
If you purchase a
piece or set that is not top quality you may up grade to a
better piece at a later date by contacting us and letting us
know which piece you would like to upgrade. As soon as a piece
of top quality becomes available you will place a small deposit
on it and we will ship it to you. Then just replace the piece ,
ship back the old one, and as long as it is in the same
conditioned as when you bought it you just pay the difference.
Example: You bought a #2 hood lip for $150.00 with a slight
wave. 2 years later you want something better. You notify us. We
ship you a top notch one which at the time sells for $225.00, as
long as your old one is in the same condition as when you
purchased it from us. You owe $75.00 + shipping and handling +
your old one for the new one. We will offer this service as long
as you own the car, and we are still offering reconditioned
trim. We do not believe any one else offers a service like this.
